Oakley A Frame Goggles with Fire Iridium lens for night boarding or skiing?

I'm looking for a pair of googles that are good for both day an night skiing/boarding. I want a pair that is good for day, night, bright an cloudy days! I'm looking at either the Oakley Wisdom H.I. Yellow, an the Oakley A frame fire iridium. What is a good pair for all conditions of riding?

You should probably get 2 pair of goggles, I do that because the fire lens is great for sunny conditions but bad for night riding. Clear or yellow is good for night

You may want to look at the oakley splices, some people where having issues with nasal pressure from the goggles which is supposed to be gone in the splices. Oakley Crowbars are good too

I’m sorry to say that there is no goggle lens that is going to be good in every light condition. At night anything other than clear or a very light yellow lens is going to be painfully
dark. The fire iridium lens is very nice though. I would say get the a-frames and buy an additional clear lens to use at night.

The only lens that will be good accross the board is a plain clear lens. The H.I. or high intensity lenses are made for medium to low light because they help to brighten the view and increase contrast, but wont work in bright conditions as they would be too bright. Most of the iridium lenses are good only for medium to bright light becuase they are tinted to reduce the brightness and reduce glare from the sun. Heres what to do, choose a frame that fits your face/helmet well, then buy different lenses for that particular frame this way you can swap the lens depending on the conditions you are riding as they can even change on the same day. I always have different lenses in my backpack for when the storm clouds move in on what started out as a bluebird day… If money is no object then just buy multiple goggles all with different lenses so that you have a google for every condition. Hope this helps.

there is absolutely no lens that is good for all conditions. You would instead want to get a reflective lens for really bright days such as the fire iridium and then get a second lens that is more translucent for cloudy days. Or I’m not sure if this is the case for oakleys but many goggle companies give you 2 lens when you buy the goggle.
